Curb Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 9, 2026
Curb helps you spend less time on your phone. It runs entirely on your device. There are no Curb servers, no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no ads. We never see your data, because it never reaches us.
What stays on your phone
Everything Curb knows about you is stored only on this device:
- Your Screen Time usage and pickup counts.
- The apps you choose to limit.
- Your goal, pace, and reduction plan.
- Your reactions to suggestions (what you accepted, skipped, or marked not for you).
- Your weekly intentions, if you choose to set them.
None of this is uploaded, synced to a cloud, or shared with us or anyone else.
Screen Time and Family Controls
Curb uses Apple's Family Controls and Screen Time APIs to measure your usage and to show a reminder screen when you reach your daily limit. This is for regulating your own device. Your usage data is handled inside Apple's privacy-protected system: the report that displays your numbers runs in a sandbox, and Curb's own code never reads the underlying figures. Everything stays on your device.
Location (optional)
If you turn it on, Curb uses your location only in the moment, to look up nearby places to go instead of scrolling. That lookup is sent to Apple Maps (MapKit), which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Curb does not store your location and keeps no location history. If you leave location off, Curb simply suggests activities instead, and works exactly the same otherwise.
Voice input (optional)
When you set your weekly intentions, you can type them or speak them. If you choose to speak, Curb uses on-device speech recognition, so the audio is processed on your phone and is never uploaded. If your device cannot do speech recognition on-device, or you decline the microphone, Curb just lets you type instead.
On-device AI suggestions
Curb's suggestions can be generated by Apple's on-device foundation models, running locally with no network connection. You can turn this off in Settings, in which case Curb uses a built-in set of suggestions. Either way, nothing leaves your phone.
Notifications
Reminders, check-ins, and the weekly recap are scheduled locally on your device. There is no push server and no message ever passes through us.
Children
Curb is a general-audience app for a person managing their own device. It is not a parental-control product and does not collect, transmit, or store data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
